Oh, tough one...Well, Legend of Sleepy Hollow is a short story, so perhaps you can read this one AND one of the other two. I haven't read Frankenstein yet, only Dracula, so I can only recommend Dracula. (If you need help deciding, you can read my review of Dracula.) Many people have recommended Frankenstein to me, saying that it's better than Dracula, if that helps. Otherwise, I definitely recommend Irving's story. Truly atmospheric for October and Halloween.
I read your Dracula review a while ago & it made me want to read it. I was thinking of trying to get 2 done... we'll see how much I can get read. Thanks so for the comment vote.
I say Sleepy Hollow. Or Frankenstein, just cuz I have a thing for Mary Shelley.
i was leaning towards Sleepy Hollow myself, so I'm glad you both seem to think the same way. It being a short story helps.
Just a random notre: Sleepy Hollow is also Tim Burton's movie, but it's is merely based on the short story, so there are many differences. But both are great - I recommend the short story and the movie. Perfect for an October spook.
